It is our pleasure to welcome you to our 63rd Annual Bull Sale which will mark 92 consecutive years in the registered Angus business. We are extremely proud of the fact that Angus cattle have provided our livelihood in that time. We have been blessed with the greatest customers in the world. Over 80% of our customers are repeat buyers. The demand for Angus steer and heifers just keeps getting better. Certified Angus Beef marketed a record 880 million pounds in 2014 and is looking for a bigger year in 2015. The Certified Angus Beef program has helped create a huge demand for your Sitz sired calves. Last year between Superior Livestock, Big Blue Sale Barn, and privately, we helped market over 20,000 head of customer's livestock. We have worked hard in developing numerous relations with feed yards that will pay premiums for Sitz Angus genetics.
Unequivocally, the bulls in this sale are the best set of bulls we have ever raised to date. You have the opportunity to buy half-brothers in volume. These bulls are summered in big country at high elevations in large contemporary groups. They are the type of bulls which will keep you profitable, both now and in the future. We hope they demonstrate our commitment to our customers and the Angus business over the long haul. We value your trust and we will continue our work to validate it.
Please feel free to come the day before to evaluate the bulls and look through the cows. That evening we will be having a pre-sale gathering and a CAB New York Steak dinner. Larry Gran from Zoetis and Dr. Tonya Amen from the American Angus Association will be giving a quick overview about genomics, and about how the commercial cattlemen or cattlewomen can benefit and profit from using this tool.
We invite you to join us for our 13th annual Spring Sale on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Also, plan on having our traditional Certified Angus Beef prime rib feed for lunch. Once again, the sale will be broadcast on Superior Livestock Auction on Channel 232 for those who can't attend in person.
We look forward to seeing you on March 11th.
