Third place honors for WDA went to Lot 66, a Sitz Traveler 8180 sired bull

Also, in the white tag division of sire groups, fourth place honors for ADG at 3.5 pounds

SITZ ANGUS RANCH HOSTS 40TH ANNUAL BULL SALE
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED MAKE OUR SALE A SUCCESS!!

Sitz Angus Ranch was visited by yet another group of ranchers from Kentucky.
This time, the tour took everyone to the Big Hole Valley to visit that portion of Sitz Angus Ranch.

These pictures show the forest fire that had begun the night before the tour. Airplanes and helicopters flew over all day dropping fire retardant and water. The fire has been burning for about a week but they have finally got it contained and the cooler weather has helped them out some.

Tour Time!!
July 9th, Sitz Angus Ranch hosted a tour of 60 cattlemen and women traveling from various parts of Kentucky who are tobacco farmers and ranchers. They took a quick tour through the fall calvers and the bulls for our upcoming December 1, 2005, fall bull sale after a brief discussion with the Sitzes. We enjoyed visiting with all of them and learned more about how other farms and ranches are operated.

On April 26, Sitz Angus Ranch hosted the annual Ag Day for area schools. The Madison Valley Cattle Women's Ass'n. sponsored the event. The goal of the program was to give kids an appreciation for agriculture and where their food comes from. A variety of stations were set up to teach children about Montana's large cattle population, wool, dairy products, poultry and many more ag related topics.

Tamara Beardsley taught about the food pyramid by building the perfect cheeseburger.
Dr. Will Oliver demonstrated how to ultrasound an animal for carcass testing and showed the kids how to detect the heartbeat.
Where does your food come from?

WE  ARE  OUT TO  GRASS!

Mountain range overlooking the Big Hole Valley.

It is always such a relief when the cows can be sent out to grass and get off of feed at home. There was little snow in the mountains going into spring but we did receive some timely moisture in the form of rain that hopefully will continue through the summer to give Southwest Montana a break from its dry pattern that we have had for the last 6 years.
